Ingredients

• 3 cups sugar
• 1 cup corn syrup (clear)
• 1/2 cup water
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 3/4 cup chopped nuts
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 2 egg whites

Preparation

Step 1

Combine corn syrup, water, salt and sugar. Boil hard until hard ball stage or turns brittle when dropped in water.

Beat egg whites until stiff and and gradually pour in syrup (hot mixture), beating until until stiff.

Add vanilla and chopped nuts.

Make sure it isn't raining or damp because the divinity won't firm up.
