Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup (about) water

Preparation

Step 1

Sift dry ingredients together. With a pastry blender, cut in the shortening. Add about a cup of water until a medium dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes, and allow the dough to rest for 30 minutes covered. Divide into 12 portions. Shape each portion into a ball, and roll out until 1/8 inch thick. Bake on a hot griddle.
