Learned to cook with Grandma, then watching Julia Child on TV. Refined technique by trial and error, Jacques Pepin bks and VCR series, and sharing the kitchen with a French friend who was a great cuisiniere. I am fearless about trying new things, usually try to include one new recipe at a dinner party, and yes, I still give dinner parties, fopr no more than 8 people, where I cook the entire meal…but always arrange to have someone help me clean up.
Omnivore, any food but Chinese; big reader of all kinds of books (elitist lit to slumming 'airplane'lit), movies esp. foreign films and Amer movies, when they are intell. engaging and/or thought-provocative; 20th c.painting; 'Fashionista', but age-appropriate.
